The Budwig Diet: Fact or Ficton...

It is widely purported that German biochemist Dr Johanna Budwig, whose specialism was in fats, singlehandedly found the cure for cancer along with other chronic illnesses way back in the 1950s!

Nominated 7 times for the Nobel Peace prize she discovered that the blood of a healthy person contained high levels of omega 3, essential fatty acids. Her studies found that processed and hydrogenated fats basically corrupt and destroy our cells causing disease and toxicity.

Dr Budwig argued that a daily consumption of flaxseed or linseed oil was able to reverse the damage and fire up unhealthy cells. BUT in order for maximum effectiveness the oil needed to be combined well with cottage cheese, rich in sulfar protein and saturated fats, to increase the absorption power.

I have started to add this to my daily eating regime, one because the taste is great, two they are both nutritionally rich and three because you never know it may actually hold the key to optimum health!

ps. Dr Budwig died at the age of 93 due to  complications from a fall.

Scientific studies confirm that modern living has created a huge disconnect between us and mother earth which is affecting our health !  How so?

Well we are electrical beings, regularly producing negative ions which are toxic and inflammatory. The earth's surface on the other hand produces a limitless supply of positive ions.

In "earthing" or connecting ourselves to grass, sand, soil and saltwater we absorb these good ions which help neutralise the free radicals running around in our bodies.

It was easier when we used to till the soil, sleep on mud floors and walk the earth barefoot to access this good stuff. But now we have to make an effort !

Maybe try heading to the park at lunchtime, and hang out barefoot for 30 minutes or so. See if you feel any different ! I always do.

synergy

From Wikipedia:  Synergy is the creation of a whole that is greater than the simple sum of its parts.

This shot = Synergy in action. Individuals coming together to create something that couldn't have been achieved without each and every person being there, present and committed !

There is absolutely a time and a place for "individuality", setting yourself apart from the rest so to speak. But there are also situations where it's okay, necessary in fact,  to surrender and let go of the need to be in control.

Being led for example through your yoga practice or any class environment be it gym or IT training is a chance for you to take a load off. There is no need to think, judge, react, analyse,  just accept exactly where you find yourself at that very moment.

At times I certainly struggle with this concept. Do you? And if so, what tips can you offer to reign in the ego and just let the process happen?

shake it up a little

How easy is it to become locked into routines. Before even releasing, entrenched habits have developed. Same take out, same outfit, same workout, groundhog day!

And so?? Doing the same thing over and over is how we can create some great routines.  The only snag can be that sometimes new possibilities are ignored.  And then breaking the habit can often times be just as difficult as it was to create it in the first place!

Me for example, I love yoga. Understatement really! But what I love about this photo is that it reminds me of other fun and beautiful ways to keep fit, bare feet in the sand, stunning views and fresh sea air!

They say change is as good as a holiday!. What other new pursuits or hobbies would you like to explore which might mean releasing the grip on of some that hard wiring??? Hhhmm
