The Budwig Diet: Fact or Ficton...

It is widely purported that German biochemist Dr Johanna Budwig, whose specialism was in fats, singlehandedly found the cure for cancer along with other chronic illnesses way back in the 1950s!

Nominated 7 times for the Nobel Peace prize she discovered that the blood of a healthy person contained high levels of omega 3, essential fatty acids. Her studies found that processed and hydrogenated fats basically corrupt and destroy our cells causing disease and toxicity.

Dr Budwig argued that a daily consumption of flaxseed or linseed oil was able to reverse the damage and fire up unhealthy cells. BUT in order for maximum effectiveness the oil needed to be combined well with cottage cheese, rich in sulfar protein and saturated fats, to increase the absorption power.

I have started to add this to my daily eating regime, one because the taste is great, two they are both nutritionally rich and three because you never know it may actually hold the key to optimum health!

ps. Dr Budwig died at the age of 93 due to  complications from a fall.
